Stasis Grenades on impact generate a stable, temporary, spatially confined temporal stasis field, significantly subduing regular temporal flow in an area of five metres around the initial impact site. Due to the instable nature of their temporal inhibition core, the exact duration of the effect cannot be predicted, but usually ranges between three and sixteen point five seconds.

Adult psychneuein can exist partially outside of realspace, however, all known strains have to fully manifest in order to procreate or interact with realspace in any way. For all known strains, procreation consists of infecting the brain of an unprotected, otherwise unprepared or nascent psyker with an immaterial displaced version of several psychneuein larvae which, over the course of a varying amount of time, proceed to gestate and transition into realspace. Upon completion of this first stage, the larvae proceed to consume the hosts brain, causing rapidly worsening symptoms starting with simple headaches and ending in complete madness and the hosts death. Sudden bursts of uncontrolled warp energy or the hosts death have also been observed to rapidly accelerate the larvae's maturation. Adult creatures hatching will destroy the hosts body and subsequently consume it.
The Psychneuein Mara strain appears to be especially aggressive. Adult psychneuein attracted by areas that present a weakened barrier to the immaterium have been reported to attack without provocation, in some cases their swarms have consisted of as many as 25 creatures. Although a small number of the creatures usually do not pose a physical thread, they do possess some inherent psychic abilities. Viable targets to serve as hosts for gestation are usually swiftly attacked by the whole swarm, as a single physical contact with one of the creatures is sufficient to potentially initiate the psychically conducted infestation, preventable only by outstanding mental fortitude of the host. Once infested, the host will not be attacked again by the creatures.
No proven protection exists against Psychneuein infection. However, promising results have been achieved using experimental substance E-INOC-32-2 that has been developed for the Project Tesseract crew. The substance, however, still suffers from a number of severe side effects.
