I am pleased to report that after months of fruitless interrogation on the Serrated Query cultists we detained, through no more than sheer luck we might have finally stumbled upon a weak link in the cult's shrouded network of deception.
Two weeks ago, Makarius Grel, a freighter captain with suspected ties to several heretical organizations was routinely detained after returning to Lo from an unscheduled and unregistered cargo haul. During the first eight of his interrogation sessions, he resisted any technique of encouragement applied. Regardless of the fact that he did not seem unwilling to cooperate in general, he summarily dismissed not only offers of financial compensation and exemption from prosecution, but also threats to his life, insisting that if he were to speak of any aspect of the mission he was entrusted with, he would "be a dead man anyhow", that he physically was unable to divulge any useful information to anyone other than his client.
During his ninth interrogation session, conducted mere hours ago, and after being subjected to more…extreme methods of persuasion, Grel finally broke. He appeared willing to provide intelligence in exchange for him and his family being taken into protective custody.
The first useful piece of information extracted from him was the destination of his clandestine mission - the Rubycon II system, on the far edge of the Drusus Marches. Unfortunately (and, if I may presume judgement on the issue, in a most curious manner), however, he died from a massive cerebral hemorrhage only seconds after divulging this fact.
An autopsy to determine the cause of his ill-timed death is currently underway, but I assumed you would want to be notified about this development immediately.
