The House of Dust and Ash was a great crematoria and tomb complex located on the Burning Isle, a remote island 900 miles south of Hive Gloriana. It dated back to ancient times, before the mass polution of Solomon. Originating back then, the island was excempted from many laws by ancient right and from prying eyes by its isolation; it was run by a religious group only known as the Sorrowful Guild. It aws considered a mark of renown for Solomon's elites to be cremated there.
By nature of it's neutrality, it was considered neutral ground for many a righteous and not-so-righteous businessmen and was often host to private meetings, negotiations, auctions and such.
In 815.M41, during the
Haarlock Auction, it was destroyed by an eruption of the Island's volcano, triggered by a trap that was controlled by a device known as The Gilded Widow.
