after nearly three years of raids, I would hope to say we got them all...but I dare not utter such a thing, for I know it to be most probably far from the truth.
Ever since the incident on Piety, we have committed considerable resources, along with resources from the Ordos Xenos and Malleus, to the discovery and capture of any and all cells of the cult that calls themselves the Serrated Query. Thus far, we have dismantled the previously-known cells on Scintilla, Sepheris Secundus as well as what remained of those cultists left on Piety. There, we also discovered hints to other cells positioned on Scintilla, Sepheris Secundus, Sinophia, Strank, Protasia, Samson IV, Fenksworld, Balecaster, Hredrin, Perinetus and Tygress V (there is no doubt on my mind that the fact that this information was still available to us on arrival is not to be attributed to a mistake or carelessness, but rather to the fact that the Serrated Query itself did not fully grasp the magnitude of the events to take Place on Piety). Although the Query is comprised of true masters of deception and - if necessary - flight, the element of surprise was on our side more often then not, and I am pleased to report that we have thus far captured ninety-one cultists in total, both from the three known cells as well as from those mentioned above. I am afraid to say, however, that thus far, no method of interrogation or persuasion has been effective in gathering any additional information from them whatsoever. As of this moment, we are still investigating the two remaining cells that we know about.
However, we have, as you already know in part, already discovered a number of disturbing facts about the organization.
Firstly, they do not seem to be self-organized. Although there are cell leaders, the cult seems to be controlled from the outside. Most interesting appears the fact that there are no records, written or contained within the impounded cogitators, about this leader. As of now, we do not even know his name, and even the cultists themself, so is my belief, do not seem to do so. It is also my belief that finding the mind behind this faceless group is the key to eventually destroying it for good. Unfortunately, we are no further on this matter than we were three years ago.
Secondly, although I suspect that this is not entirely new information to you, the cult seems to possess an array of technology that is far from what one would be able to purchase even on the rich black market in the sector. Some of the items appear manmade, but defy identification by the Mechanicum, suggesting that they have been recovered from sources of archeotechnology previously unknown to us. Others, and this fact seems even more troubling to me, are definitely of xenos origin, which poses the troubling question of whether it is possible that the Serrated Query either keeps substantial relations to sources of xenos technology or, worse, if xenos entities are in fact part of the organization itself.
